I had a very convenient stay at a hotel near Kyoto Station. The location was perfect for exploring the city, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The traditional Japanese rooms were cozy and well-equipped. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a visit to Kyoto.

It's location close to Kyoto station for the train to the airport.
Although not of the same standards as the other hotels I stayed in during my holiday to Japan nevertheless it was ideal for it's location to the station.

The hotel is run by a couple who are super friendly. The man gave a nice introduction to the nearby attractions and even delivered an iced coffee every afternoon I returned early. He also brought an alarm clock as well as setting the automatic wakeup call for my departure. There is no lobby; rather the foyer space (a tiny space) serves as the place to take off your shoes and stash them in the common cupboard. The foyer is guarded fiercely by a small dog that only barks at people coming in but not going out. Hotel is very close to Kujo and Kyoto Station and there are several convenience stores withing 100m. The room's single piece of furniture was a small coffee table. Very fast included Wifi network; got downloads of 1MBps. Bathroom is all-in-one unit with shower head that reaches bath, sink, and toilet. Not scenic but convenient. Recommended for people who don't want the full-on "luxury" hotel treatment and $10 beers in the hotel bar.
Nothing I really didn't like. I guess it is a bit noisy being on a busy street. Also the rooms are it; no other facilities like lobby or waiting area.

The room was kept very clean during our stay and the staff were friendly and helpful, providing us with directions and advice. the location was very convenient, with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance and good public transport links.
The room was quite small, especially the bathroom, which lacked some basic amenities such as shampoo and conditioner. the walls were quite thin so we could hear some noise from neighboring rooms and the hallway.

Nice quiet area that is fairly empty after 9-10 pm. There is no curfew and someone is always around to answer questions.
When my neighbors were present I could hear their conversation word for word through the walls. Downstairs there are laptops (pay-for-use). Wifi itself was extremely spotty. And not really cheap and/or the best deal at $50/night considering it was off-season.

This was actually a reservation with for my daughter. She was quite pleased, especially with the location.
Very small room. But that is not unusual or unexpected.

Location is okay. Two minute walk from Kyoto Station
Not really close to Kyoto Centre, extremely small rooms. Price is too high for what you're getting

The reception was very helpful and friendly
My room was very small and cramped. Given that it had a private bathroom it was very good value but I felt very restricted there and in the end I moved elsewhere slightly cheaper but with a larger room though separate bathroom.

Close to Kyoto station. Great family room division. Spacious bathroom. Provided washing machine with dryer function. Wide variety of restaurants in the area. Easy access to attractions by bus. Helpful staff.
Nothing all good.

Location - near to the station which is convenient for taking the bus or train. This is the first time I stayed in a Ryokan and sleep traditional Japanese tatami style. I do not find it as unpleasant as some of the other reviews. I think this is subject to personal preference and body type. The experience of sleeping on a thin mattress on the floor could be different for people of different body built. I think this is something people should bear in mind when they consider sleeping tatami. Otherwise, the room is functional and clean. It has Wifi, mini fridge and the BBC. The owner is very helpful. My room is facing the back and it is quiet.

The staff was very friendly. He provided helpful commuting information in English. The location was close to the Kyoto Station. However, keep in mind, this is a budget hotel, with only necessary facilities to stay overnight.

Det enda som var bra var att hotellet ligger ganska när huvud stationen i kyoto.
1.Japanese style-ok, but the "bed" matress was so thin you could barely sleep on it. 2. Next to a busy main road without any noise reducing windows. No means of darkening the room, when the sun pops up, it bright.3. Paperwalls, you hear what your neighbours are whispering about. 4 Bathroom, just enough hotwater to wash your hands, shower? forget it unless you like a cold one.
